Belgium will end 2018 atop FIFA World Ranking, with World Cup winners France coming in at No. 2.

Brazil are at No. 3 and World Cup runners-up Croatia are at No. 4 in a mostly unchanged monthly ranking.

England and Portugal, who both qualified for the UEFA Nations League finals, are fifth and sixth respectively.

England's positive vibes pay dividends, Belgium blow big lead, Dutch delight, more

When it comes to England and semifinals, it's a bit like the old London buses cliche: You wait 20 years for one and then two come along at once. OK, so the joke is beyond corny, and yes, a UEFA Nations League semifinal is a wholly different animal. However, there is no denying that the England team are buzzing in a way we have not seen in a long time.

There are plenty of holes you can pick in the 2-1 win over Croatia, which opened the doors of the final four to Gareth Southgate's crew. Until Harry...

Belgium 'forgot to defend' in Switzerland rout in Nations League - Roberto Martinez

Belgium were at a loss to explain their astonishing collapse against Switzerland on Sunday, when they threw away a two-goal lead, conceded five goals in an hour and missed out on the final four of the Nations League.

Some players felt the World Cup semifinalists might have got carried away after they went two goals ahead after only 17 minutes.

Certainly there was a point shortly after their second goal when Belgium were passing the ball around in midfield to cheers from their fans where they seemed...
