Messi scores his 100th European goal, Pique sent off as Barca cruise

Lionel Messi netted his 100th goal in European competition as 10-man Barcelona stayed perfect in Group D.

Barcelona strolled to within striking distance of the last 16 of the Champions League by easily beating a woefully mismatched Olympiakos 3-1 even after having Gerard Pique sent off before the end of the first half.

Lionel Messi's 100th goal in European competitions, a trademark curling free kick, got the biggest cheer on a flat night at Camp Nou conditioned by the torrential rain in the Catalan capital and opponents who barely showed up.

Barca benefitted from an own goal for the fifth time this...

Nico Gaitan, Atletico Madrid lifeless in bore draw against Qarabag

Atletico Madrid were held by 10-man Qarabag FK in Azerbaijan which leaves them in a precarious spot in Group C.

A dismal, dreary display from Atletico Madrid saw them draw 0-0 away to Qarabag. It leaves their hopes of progressing in the Champions League hanging by a thread with no margin for error in the next three games.

Truth be told, it was a non-event with the club's impotence against sides who sit back and defend there for all to see. It is all well and good playing well against sides who let you play your game, but you need to adapt.

The Azeri outfit had a man sent off and even then Los Rojiblancos...

Real Madrid will sink or swim with Zinedine Zidane's rotation policy

Zinedine Zidane remains optimistic about Real Madrid's form at the Santiago Bernabeu after their draw with Spurs.

There were five changes to Real Madrid's starting lineup for the match against Levante. The Bernabeu was treated to seven for the visit of APOEL. There were four for Alaves, and five for Tottenham.

Zinedine Zidane has positioned himself as a staunch advocate of squad rotation so far in his fledgling managerial career. Since taking the job in January 2016, the French coach has generally been credited with hauling Real Madrid out from the stodginess of Rafael Benitez's tenure. It is ironic, therefore,...

Gary Lineker brands Benzema 'overrated,' Spanish pundits hit back

Former Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona striker Gary Lineker had the tables turned on him by Spanish pundits after the BT Sport presenter questioned Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema's quality on Twitter during Spurs' 1-1 draw at the Bernabeu on Tuesday.

Madrid had the clearer opportunities over the 90 minutes of their Champions League Group H clash, with Benzema pulling a shot wide of an open goal in the first half, and then being denied at point-blank range by goalkeeper Hugo Lloris after the break.

Keylor Navas earns Real Madrid a point vs. Spurs with sparking performance

Hugo Lloris and Keylor Navas each put on a show between the sticks as Real Madrid and Spurs battled to a draw.

Real Madrid and Spurs shared the spoils in an evenly contested game in the Bernabeu and neither side will lament missed opportunities in the 1-1 draw. The results were fair and made that much more palatable because of the stalemate between APOEL and Dortmund. A Raphael Varane own goal gave Tottenham the lead and Cristiano Ronaldo equalised from the spot in an open encounter with both keepers proving the stars of the show.

Barcelona mark 13th anniversary of Lionel Messi debut with beautiful video

On the 13th anniversary of his La Liga debut, Barcelona have paid loving homage to Lionel Messi with a timely look back at the diminutive Argentinian legend's formative years at the Catalan club.

Barca have created a fantastic compilation that features a fresh-faced teenage Messi twisting, turning, dribbling and scoring goal after goal after goal for the youth team -- a handy knack he has continued to demonstrate right up to the present day.

Some 360 goals in 390 appearances later, here we are....
