Diego Alves wants to remain at Valencia this summer despite exit talk

Diego Alves is contracted to Valencia until June 2019.

Diego Alves intends to honour his contract at Valencia despite speculation in Spain claiming that the La Liga club are planing to sell him this summer.

Local reports say that Valencia will put Alves, 31, on the transfer list once the season is over as they are unhappy with his form and with the goalkeeper being among the team's highest earners alongside Enzo Perez and Dani Parejo.

Peter Lim took control at Valencia in October 2014.

Incoming Valencia president Anil Murthy has said owner Peter Lim would not let the club go, even for €1 billion.

Valencia have had a turbulent time since Lim took over in October 2014, leading to speculation that the Singaporean businessman could sell up.

However, executive director Murthy, who becomes president on July 1, told a news conference: "There is nothing regarding the sale of the club. Not for €2 million, not for €1bn."

Layhoon Chan to step down as president of Valencia

Layhoon Chan will leave her post as Valencia president this summer.

Layhoon Chan has tendered her resignation as Valencia president and will step down in the summer, the Spanish club have announced.

Chan was appointed to the post in late 2014 in the wake of the club's takeover by Singapore billionaire Peter Lim.

Anil Murthy, Valencia's executive director who joined the club last September, will replace Chan as president.
