Real Sociedad have climbed into a first-placed tie in La Liga.

Real Sociedad went level on points with La Liga leaders Barcelona after snatching a 2-1 victory away from fellow high-flyers Granada on Sunday thanks to a late strike from forward Cristian Portu.

Portu had given the Basque side the lead midway through the first half, latching on to a pass from Mikel Oyarzabal and confidently finishing into the bottom corner after Granada lost possession inside their own half.

Promoted Granada had fallen off the summit of the table in midweek after surprisingly leading...

Granada missed a chance to extend their fairytale start to the season and return to the top of La Liga on Thursday as they fell to a 3-1 defeat at Getafe.

The home side went ahead in the 35th minute with a sweeping strike from striker Angel Rodriguez after Granada had given the ball away in midfield.

Granada have beaten Barcelona, Sevilla and Valencia already this season to lead the league after 10 games.

There's an elephant in the room, it has red-and-white stripes, is 88 years old and has a name: Granada Club de Futbol.

Like all elephants in the room, everyone's avoiding the subject. In short: it's a risible, humiliating and potentially disastrous situation that, right now, Granada are outright leaders of La Liga in Spain for the first time in their history. There, I've said what you were thinking while all your friends and an assortment of people on social media around the world go all gooey...

Promoted Granada continued their stunning start to the season by climbing above Barcelona to the top of La Liga on Sunday after beating Real Betis 1-0 for a fourth consecutive home win.

Former Betis forward Alvaro Vadillo struck the only goal of the game just after the hour mark, tucking the ball inside the near post with one touch to complete a quick counter-attack.

Granada top the standings on 20 points after 10 games, one clear of second-placed Barcelona who have a game in hand after the 'Clasico'...

Granada provisionally climbed into second place in Spain's La Liga on Friday after edging past visitors Osasuna 1-0 courtesy of Domingos Duarte's first half header.

Duarte was left with too much space in the box and rose high to score in the 38th minute.

In an evenly balanced encounter with possession split right down the middle, Osasuna posed virtually no attacking threat, with their striker Chimy Avila cutting a lone figure up front.

Osasuna were left with 10 men when Fran Merida was sent off in...
