Atletico Madrid's Diego Simeone: I don't want Filipe Luis to leave for PSG

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone wants to hold on to defender Filipe Luis amid reports the player has received an offer to join Paris Saint-Germain, and said having the transfer window open at the start of the season is a distraction.

"All I can say about Filipe Luis is that the player knows how much we love him and how important he is for us," Simeone told a news conference ahead of Atletico's La Liga opener against Valencia on Monday.

Atletico's Antoine Griezmann and Karl-Anthony Towns do a Fortnite dance

Antoine Griezmann loves Fortnite. So much so, he does a "Fortnite dance" when he scores.

And now he has a friend to join him: Karl-Anthony Towns, centre for NBA side the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Towns visited Atletico's training ground on Saturday and Griezmann, also a massive NBA fan, made sure he got together with the big man.

Let's just hope Towns doesn't try to bust out a move every time he sinks a bucket in the NBA -- that could get old very quickly.

FIFA fines Atletico Madrid for third-party interference in transfer

Atletico Madrid's Diego Simeone hailed his side's ability to break Real Madrid's 18-year winning run in continental cup finals.

ZURICH -- FIFA has fined Atletico Madrid for third-party interference in a player transfer.

FIFA says the transfer for an unnamed player included a contract which "enabled a third party to influence the club's independence in employment and transfer-related matters."

Atletico, who beat Real Madrid 4-2 in the European Super Cup on Wednesday, was fined 52,500 Swiss francs ($52,720).
