Fabinho set to leave Monaco in summer amid Atletico Madrid, PSG links

Fabinho had seemed likely to leave Monaco before the start of the season.

Fabinho has said he will leave Monaco next summer, with Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain reported to be among the clubs interested in him.

Brazil international Fabinho had said he would welcome a move to Manchester United last summer, only for them to sign Nemanja Matic, and was then widely expected to join PSG.

But the midfielder stayed at the Stade Louis II as teammates including Bernardo Silva, Benjamin Mendy, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Kylian Mbappe left.

He told reporters on Wednesday that...

Atletico are set to pay the 20-year-old 's €9 million release clause, and he told TyC Sports: "Simeone didn't call me just to tickle my ear, only to speak about his project.

"He called me up and spoke to me about the projects he has, spoke about...

Atletico to help raise funds for Egypt terror victims with Al Ahly friendly

Sid Lowe points to the two draws against Qarabag as Atletico Madrid's biggest downfall in their disappointing UCL campaign.

Atletico Madrid will play Egyptian side Al Ahly in Alexandria later this month in a "Match for Peace" to raise funds for the families of victims of the Nov. 24 terror attack in Egypt.

The match takes place at the Borgh-al-Arab Stadium, which has an 84,000 capacity, on Dec. 30.

The clubs will donate 100 percent of the revenue to the relatives of victims. More than 300 people were killed and 128 injured when a bomb exploded inside a mosque on the Sinai Peninsula.

An Atletico statement said: "After...

Fernando Torres wants to stay at Atletico Madrid for years

Sid Lowe points to the two draws against Qarabag as Atletico Madrid's biggest downfall in their disappointing UCL campaign.

Atletico Madrid forward Fernando Torres has quashed speculation that he could leave the club in January instead of fighting for playing time after the arrival of Diego Costa.

Reports in Spain recently claimed that Torres, 33, was planning to leave Atletico in the winter transfer window with offers to play in China and in the United States on the table. He has seen limited playing time under coach Diego Simeone this season.

However, Torres, tied to Atletico until June 2018, told AS TV: "I'm under...

Saul Niguez and Jan Oblak impress as Atletico keep away streak alive

Saul Niguez found the back of the net for the second match in a row.
Saul Niguez found the back of the net for the second match in a row for surging Atletico.

Atletico Madrid did what they do best and dogged out a 1-0 win away to Real Betis on Sunday afternoon.

Saul's close-range effort on the half hour was enough to seal this for Los Rojiblancos, who are now unbeaten away from home in La Liga for 19 games -- dating back 12 months as they continue to keep the pressure on Barcelona at the top of the table.

They needed a Jan Oblak special to keep the scores level late on, however apart from the Slovenian's effort the result was rarely in doubt, despite...
