Liga MX Power Rankings: Cruz Azul still on top as Santos Laguna dips

Before we get to this week's Power Rankings, we would be remiss to omit mention of the violence that overshadowed Sunday's Tigres vs. Monterrey match.

Such scenes taint our enjoyment of the game, and this latest incident leaves Liga MX -- once again -- at a crossroads. It simply must act; ignorance is not viable. No fan, regardless of affiliation, should have to fear for his or her safety.

With that, here are the Power Rankings for Week 10:

Record: 7W-2D-1L
Week 9 ranking: 1

Manchester United's goal threat could benefit from a wider focus

Sir Alex Ferguson was honoured by the club after returning to Old Trafford for the first time since having emergency brain surgery in May.

A penny for the thoughts of Sir Alex Ferguson as he settled into his seat after soaking up rapturous applause from Manchester United and Wolves fans on Saturday.

It was great to see the legendary manager back at Old Trafford, four months after he underwent surgery for a brain haemorrhage, and his presence gave the whole stadium a lift, just as it did at a recent celebration of receptionist Cath Phipps' 50 years at the club.

During almost 27 years in charge at United, a consistent feature of Ferguson's...

FIFA's Jerome Valcke flew in private jets to 'avoid arrest' - legal documents

FIFA spent $11.7 million in less than three years on private jets, including luxury sightseeing trips for a top official, a newly published legal document shows.

Jerome Valcke, then the FIFA secretary general, was urged in a 2013 internal memo to find "more cost efficient alternatives whenever possible," according to the Court of Arbitration for Sport's verdict explaining why his appeal against a 10-year ban was dismissed.

Excessive use of private jets and ordering business-class travel for his...

How Manchester City's 19-year-old Aro Muric went from loanee to No. 1 cup keeper

Craig Burley says if he were picking the Man City team, he'd choose Sergio Aguero to start because of his scintillating goalscoring form over the years.

Shortly after making an impressive debut and keeping a clean sheet for Dutch top division side NAC Breda in August, Aro Muric received a phone call that he would be heading straight back to Manchester. Chile international Claudio Bravo had ruptured his Achilles' tendon and the 19-year-old would be cutting short his season-long loan in the Netherlands to be part of Manchester City's first-team squad as their back-up goalkeeper.

A month on and the giant Kosovan is in line to make his full debut for...

Sanchez presents another headache for Man United, Dybala stars for Juve

Manchester United were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Wolves, but this time it's not Jose Mourinho who is on trial. Reactions were split between praising Wolves -- deservedly so, Nuno Espirito Santo had the upper hand tactically and in Ruben Neves, they have perhaps the best player outside the top six in England -- and questioning Alexis Sanchez.

The Chile international lasted just over an hour before being substituted, and flashed only intermittently over that time, raising the question of whether...
