UEFA has fined Olympiakos €60,000 after fans twice approached Barcelona's Lionel Messi on the field during a Champions League game last month.

Greek champions Olympiakos were found guilty of "field invasions by supporters" among a range of charges relating to the Oct. 31 game.

Messi was hugged and kissed by a male fan near the corner flag, and he was approached by a fan for a selfie photograph late in the 0-0 draw in Piraeus.

The UEFA-imposed fine also included charges for "illicit chants"...

UEFA won't punish Roma over alleged monkey chants at Antonio Rudiger

Antonio Rudiger joined Chelsea from Roma last summer.

UEFA has closed disciplinary proceedings against Roma after some of their supporters allegedly directed monkey chants at Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger during October's Champions League clash at Stamford Bridge.

In a statement, UEFA announced its control, ethics and disciplinary body "has decided to close the disciplinary proceedings."

Press Association Sport reported there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

More worldwide football tournaments involving potentially all national teams could be coming to every odd-numbered year, under a new proposal.

The UEFA-led Global Nations League could replace many often-meaningless friendly matches, officials briefed on the project told The Associated Press.

The plan would invite all 223 members of FIFA's six continental confederations and take place every two years. The format expands on the UEFA Nations League, which kicks off next September in Europe.

La Liga president Javier Tebas has accused Paris Saint-Germain of "cheating economically" and urged UEFA to expel them from the Champions League if they are found to have infringed financial fair play (FFP) rules.

In August, PSG broke the world transfer record by signing Neymar from Barcelona for €222 million and committed another €180m plus bonuses on the arrival of Kylian Mbappe from Monaco, initially on a season-long loan.

Portuguese icon Luis Figo has announced he's joined UEFA as a football advisor.

Former Portugal midfielder Luis Figo has joined UEFA as a football advisor.

The 44-year-old, who won more than 20 trophies during a playing career at Sporting Lisbon, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter Milan, will work with president Aleksander Ceferin across a variety of technical and legal matters as well as continuing to be an ambassador for the game.

Figo's appointment is part of Ceferin's plan to get more former players involved in the decision-making process over how football is run.
