Transfer Rater: Lucas Moura to Valencia and Iker Casillas to Newcastle

The latest transfer rumours from around the world.
The latest transfer rumours from around the world.

Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Lucas Moura - Paris Saint-Germain to Valencia - 3.3

Once the subject of a transfer tug-of-war between Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United and PSG, Lucas is now a forgotten man in the French capital. The summer arrivals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe have restricted the former Sao Paulo winger to just 72 minutes of Ligue 1 football this term and according to Le Parisien, the 25-year-old is set to be shipped off to Valencia on loan in January.

Josh Vela - Bolton Wanderers to Brighton - 3.2

Bolton midfielder Josh Vela, once a Liverpool target, is being eyed by a host of promotion-chasing Championship sides, but Brighton are leading the race for the 23-year-old, reports the Daily Mail. The Salford-born player, who came through the academy at the Macron Stadium, only has 18 months to run on his contract, perhaps tempting the Championship club to cash in on him while they can.

Geoffrey Kondogbia - Inter Milan to Tottenham - 2.5

After disappointing in Serie A following a £30m move to Inter from Monaco in 2015, Kondogbia has been shining on loan with high-flying Valencia in La Liga this term. The Frenchman's performances in Spain have been so impressive that, according to Sky Sports, Spurs are eying the former Sevilla star as a long-term replacement for Mousa Dembele. A deal could prove tricky, though, as Valencia believe they hold an option to purchase the player at the end of his season-long loan.

Iker Casillas - Porto to Newcastle United - 2.2

Veteran goalkeeper Iker Casillas has emerged as a surprise transfer for Newcastle. The World Cup-winning keeper has claimed every major honour at club and international level throughout his career but finds himself out of favour at Porto. Portuguese publication Jornal de Noticias reports Rafa Benitez is keen to link up with his compatriot at St James Park. Casillas has six months remaining on his £5m-a-year deal in Portugal.

Lukas Nmecha - Manchester City to Derby County - 1.3

Derby County are battling with Everton for the signature of 18-year-old City striker Nmecha, according to The Sun. The teenage forward has been with the Etihad club since the age of nine, boasting an impressive record of 39 goals and seven assists across 57 appearances at various youth levels, and has scored nine times in eight under-23 games this term. With his contract winding down, the lifelong City fan is said to be considering a move to improve his first-team prospects.
